Gratis

Gratis was a hypothesised application that worked with charities to make donations to food banks and families simple. I was tasked with creating some branding and advertisements for the project along with some simple mockups of a user interface for the potential app. The banner I created was to be used in supermarkets to guide customers in terms of which products were needed by which charities.

I built the branding using a minimalistic yet functional approach. I kept the design of the work relevant to the necessary colour schemes and used a clear and legible font for maximum impact on the reader.

Part of my work on this project was making app wireframes.

I wanted to make an app that was easy to navigate and self explanatory.

The first page is the simple preloader that had a pulsing Gratis logo whilst the app was priming up.

The user is then greeted with their newsfeed that shows local foodbanks and key information and posts. Users would be able to interact with these posts and promote the various charities that needed help.

Next up was the locations page. This consisted of a Google maps API that would show only foodbanks, their ratings and distance from the user.

The user would choose a particular foodbank from the list and on the next page would see a comprehensive list of products that the foodbank in question were looking for. This was an important feature of the app as it helped the foodbanks to receive only the items they needed.

The account page shows the user how many items they have donated. We decided it would be an idea to incorporate this with a rewards system.
